Hope: The world will remain forever changing and not one person will ever be able to say "I did everything there is to do in GW2"- Mind you this does not mean making elements of the game "impossible".
Fear: GW remains too organized and simple as it is now. I mean, calling GW an RPG is a stretch, it has none of the hard core mechanics of a true blood through blood RPG. Give us a social diplomacy system, jobs for forging and farming, etc etc... I wanna talk to an NPC and actually enjoy it.

Hope: Entire World open to PvP through a seperate layered, but viewable "Mists" instance, keeping PvE safe, but PvP rampant and PvE interactive.
Fear: Grinds that effect PvP power, where No Lifers rule, as in WoW.

Hope: Mesmer will still be one of the professions in GW2.
Fear: Racial abilities will be imbalanced with certain professions in combination.

My hope for GW2 is that the community fixes itself, and my fear is that we will continue to be a source of problems to ourselves by our behaviour.

Hope: Izzy kicked from the skill balancing team. The balancers ask the players what are the problems and how to fix them
Fear: PvE skills, consumables, grinding and those problems of the GW1

I believe that it is going to be a great game that is extremely enjoyable to play yet there is going to be so much lag

Hope: Use of the no-life fallacy will result in a permanent IP ban.
Fear: The idiots that use it will be allowed to stay in the game.

My greatest hope is without doubt that the GW2 land cruisers will be able to assault also fortresses, not just keeps and open towns.
I think my greatest fear is that the GW2 skill-booster will completely disrupt the doublet-quartering in suppressed mode.
But it's hard to speculate about a game we know absolutely zero about. If you catch my drift.
